These services include:

  • Pipeline Pig Refurbishment and Repair
  • Pipeline Pig Cleaning
  • Flange Weld Testing & Internal Joint Testing - Equipment Hire

In addition the service centre in Abu Dhabi has been set up with engineering facilities, enabling local pig manufacture and support to our customers in the region.

Project Managers and Engineering Teams are also based at both service centres to provide support and advice on all aspects of pipeline pigging, cleaning and flow assurance.

Pig refurbishment is the inspection and replacement of worn or damaged parts on pipeline pigs to extend their working life. The components refurbished are the discs, cups, blades, brushes or attachments such as magnets. We also refurbish entire pipeline pig bodies.

Pigs returned for refurbishment are initially assessed and a full report is provided to the customer. All cups and discs provided by PE now contain a wear line to help establish the level of wear. Each service centre will hold stocks to enable a quick turnaround. In addition PE is also able to refurbish pigging tools from other vendor companies.

Through inspection of the pigging tools, PE will also be able assess whether there are problems in the line causing excessive wear or damage to the pigs and provide advice on how to resolve the problem.

PE can provide ‘deep cleaning’ of dirty or contaminated pipeline pigs, using specialist cleaning booths Clients benefit from a very quick turnaround of ‘dirty’ pigs which means little or no impact on pipeline pigging operations.

Regular cleaning of operational pigs is essential to ensure that they continue to provide effective pipeline cleaning.

Pipeline pig cleaning also helps identify parts that need replacing or repairing.

Specialist Hire Services – Internal Joint Testing & Flange Weld Testing

PE’s range of Internal Joint Testers and Flange Weld Testers are stored at the Aberdeen Service Centre and available for hire worldwide.

We stock Flange Weld Testers and Internal Joint Testers for pipe sizes from ½ inch to 36 inches.

As well as the hire of this equipment our Engineering Team can carry out testing for clients.

We can also provide bespoke testing equipment for pipelines above 36”.
