Prototyping
Prototyping is the production of an actual pig which is trialled in a test loop to simulate the actual line in which it will be used.
Pipeline Engineering fully understands the importance of products being able to perform to exacting standards in-situ. This is particularly the case with utility pigs which once inserted into a pipeline need to be able to navigate the pipeline without getting stuck, carry out the required process and be retrieved from the line at a receiving trap.
The Solutions Team at Pipeline Engineering focuses particularly on developing products to meet the requirements of specific pipelines and this will often therefore require a specialist pig.
With our Project Management capability we will evaluate all options and then design what we consider to be the best solution. It is important however to make sure that once actually manufactured, the utility pig will perform without issues. We therefore very often will produce a prototype pig which we will trial in a test loop which simulates the actual line where it will be used.
This prototyping phase also gives us the opportunity to make any required modifications to the design and only when we are confident that the pig is performing as expected will actual pigs be approved for manufacture.
This individual and thorough approach to clients specific requirements sets pipeline Engineering apart from many other companies and give clients the assurance that they are not only getting a pig to perform a task, but the best pig available for them.
