Pipeline Isolation

Isolation is carried out by inserting and positioning an isolation tool in a pipeline, the isolation tool is then pressurised to seal the pipe allowing work or operations downstream to be carried out safely.

Typically isolation will take place to allow a range of downstream operations including:

  • Valve change-out
  • Fitting removal and replacement
  • Pipeline diversion
  • General maintenance
  • Riser replacement

Pipeline Engineering is able to carry out isolation procedures in most pipe sizes both onshore and offshore. Also operations can be undertaken in most pipeline mediums including:
