When designing products for clients our technical and design teams will consider the requirements and then using our 3D SolidWorks® CAD system we will create the product to ensure that it will provide the most effective services. Operating in this way gives us the flexibility to adapt or change the product in the design process to ensure we provide the most effective solution.
Rapid Prototyping
Pipeline Engineering has invested in specialist design tools and rapid prototyping equipment to develop unique project specific designs and allow trials to be undertaken.
Product Development
Product development is fundamental to our success and the technologies that we utilise are focused on creating products to provide solutions to individual pipeline pigging requirements.
This approach has resulted in Pipeline Engineering being responsible for many industry ‘firsts’ and notable developments include:
Inflatable single-moulded pipeline sphere for general meter prover use, thereby overcoming risk of splitting- Hyperbaric spheres for use in subsea completions
- Fire safe pig detectors
- Composite pig cups to provide sealing with adequate support for large, heavy pigs travelling long distances
- Low maintenance, magnetically actuated pig and sphere detector
- Subsea pig and sphere detector
- Flange weld testers to allow hydrostatic testing of the weld zone
- Magnetic pigs to collect ferrous debris
- Subsea sphere tee with inconel 625 weld overlay
- Subsea tie-in sphere tee
- Subsea ROV operated pig launcher with ‘soft landing’ system
- Patented multi-diameter pig support system ‘paddle pig’
- Patented sealing element for use in hyperbaric welding applications
